African society is a multi-cultural one and this information their way of life and mode of dressing.it is a society that classy and unique in style and attire.traditional African attire has a way of introducing a man first hand ,a society where every tribe has there own unique way of dressing ,a society where each occasion has its own unique attire ,be traditional marriage ,burial or cultural event etc.
In Nigeria,the case is not different.almost all the popular trends in Nigeria fashion industry today are modernized traditional attires of different ethnic groups,but they still retain their original values to all these tribes.
Traditional attire is a form of identification in Nigeria.every tribes has their own unique attire for traditional and cultural occasion and all these tribes are fanatical about it.
it this fanaticism that make an egbo man assume that Yoruba putting on isiagu[the igbo traditional chieftain attire] with red cap[traditional cap]is his kinsman,and even call him iche[chife] before realizing that it was a mere fashion.
This is applicable to other tribe too.it is so valuable that even Nigeria politicians can not go for campaign in any tribe without putting on the tribe's traditional attire as a form of identification with those tribes.those different type of attire has been there for ages.modern trend may com and go but isi-agu, oworko, etibo, agbada,etc will continue to retain there value .traditional wear is a form of identity,even in foreign land.
