Perfect White Agbada |
Am always surprised if some people are planning to attract the new wife or husband. hehehe...
One major wear I have noticed in every Nigerian wedding is the agbada.
The agbada is the Yoruba name for a flowing robe worn by men in Western Africa especially in Nigeria. It’s also called babban riga by the Hausa people. Hmm, that sounds big right? Yes it does.
It’s decorated with intricate embroidery and worn on special occasions such as weddings, funerals etc.
It’s a full formal attire made of three pieces of clothing; a pair of tie-up trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and a wide, open- stitched sleeveless gown worn over these.
Some are been made from linen which are a bit heavy but I love how they flows.
Its always dope When styled with a hat. Most especially those traditional Yoruba hat which can be made of hand woven Aso-Oke, cotton, velvet or damask. It’s called Fila by the Yoruba people.
You know when soup is prepared, things like meat, fish, pomo etc are added to spice it? (Like am hungry now); same with this dressing, some gold neck chains and cufflinks scored can also be added to it.
